The Topic Timeline widget shows coverage of a particular topic in mainstream news and blogs over a period of one month. Every light blue and dark blue bar represents the number of mentions for the topic in news and blogs. You can mouse over the bars to have a closer look on the coverage for that day. The widget also shows an article headline and the article source for each day.

Our DayPI can also be used to build cool Flash widgets to distribute your content.  In this case, it was used to build a customizable news index that displays top news and coverage volume for a selection of topics, and reports week-over-week changes in volume.

By The Numbers was conceived as a different way to explore the news. In this case, by searching for news by way of a particular number that appears in the news.

Using the Daylife search API, it's possible to search for articles that contain a particular number, and present the results back in a format that allows you to shape the presentation of those results. This model was conceived as a Flash module, allowing a user to scroll across the numbers, from 0 - 100, select and display the results. Then, scrolling over the headlines, you can select the story you want to read and click on it to go directly to the article.

CNNMoney uses Daylife to power the Meme-o-meter, which tracks how much (or how little) various technology memes are being discussed in news and blogs.

This widget is one of the several examples of our Index Widgets. CNNMoney went one step further than creating a dex widget by building news page for each item that the dex tracks. For e.g.  a news page on Social Networking.
